Greetings,

It's a beautiful new day and as the Josh Radin lyrics go,

Gonna climb that hill behind my house
See what this place is all about
Cause from above it all, you can't help but say
It's gonna be a beautiful day...

And it is also Friday.  That makes it just hours closer to a nice weekend to celebrate the graduates in our family.  In a perfect world we'd get to 4 graduations tomorrow but given that it isn't perfect we'll do our best to make it to 3 of the 4.

The hill I'm climbing today is to work toward getting this blog up and running.  Lots of ideas run through my head but I falter when it comes to putting the ideas into action.  I recently began reading a book title The 5 Second Rule authored by Mel Robbins.  No it isn't the 5 second rule that you can pick up food from the floor and eat it...and by the way I'd never do that in this press room - one might die if they did that.   5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 Go...So here I go.

I'm only 2 chapters in to this book but I really think that Mel Robbins has found a great tool for keeping us going on our ideas and in creating action for ourselves.  If you are interested in the book here's a link where you too can get the book.

I've climbed part of the hill, shared with you this great new book, and now I'll be setting up a guide to keeping this blog updated and hopefully share some ideas, tips, and products with your that will make your life better.

A great new product for your small electronic device

We all have more electronic devices than we know what to do with. I have my I-mac, my laptop, my IPad and my IPhone. Too many of those things in my opinion, but I've gotten attached to them and am trying to remember how I managed back when I didn't have a computer or even a telephone that wasn't attached to a cord. I most certainly want to believe that life was easier back then. I could go to the grocery store and know that I had at least a half hour without my children calling to complain that "he said ...." and "she said...". No phone in the grocery store aisle and I knew that the only thing to distract me in the car was the car radio or the children screaming at each other in the back seat.

Remember those days... and the days when we talked to each other and didn't send e-mails, let alone text messages. I managed all those years driving in bad weather without a cell phone and I always found a phone to call home if I was going to be arriving after curfew for any reason whatsoever. Now even 7 year olds have cell phones. I had a little girl ask me to hold her cell phone while she jumped in the Bounce House. She told me she was 7 and that was the way her mother always knew where she was. Sigh... Cell Phones work most everywhere and just because one has a cell phone certainly doesn't mean we always know where they are.

But those days have gone and now we are in this electronic world. And truly I don't want to not have my laptop, or my phone, or my Ipad. Convenience is offered and I can call home to see what is on the list I left on the counter or better yet, I typed the list on my laptop, saved it to my Dropbox in a pdf and open it on my IPhone is IBooks right there in the aisle and I've eliminated the lost list. And believe me I've lost many a list in my day. I can call for help when the car is broken down on the side of the road, and I can play Words with Friends when I'm riding in the car and we've talked about everything there is to talk about. And texting and video calling, my goodness we've almost become the Jetson's. Just waiting for the hover craft to be developed.

So if you've managed to read through all this garble and now I'll get back to this great product. This would be a great give-away for a cell phone company, a bank, a community college or just about any kind of business. And your name would always be on your customer's desk. Watch the video to see the "smart phone desk stand". A simple red triangle. I have one on my desk and it certainly makes it handy to always have my phone handy. If you want fast forward to 1:40 to see this product. But I invite you to watch the whole video for several cool ideas for promoting you and your business!!

Thanks for reading and watching.

This thing called blogging & copyright issue.

I am trying to learn about this thing called blogging and am a bit slow at it. One has to be so careful what they say in a blog post. I don't think there is such a thing as an original idea anymore. And if you happen to come up with an idea you better research it thoroughly before writing about it because if you don't you might get called on a copyright violation. Don't get me wrong, I think everyone should have the first rights to their work. We are all working hard to make a living and many of us are selling, teaching, creating the same kinds of things.

I recently had an idea about a design. Began to work on it and discovered through research that someone else had already created a similar design. Stop the work, go back to the drawing board and try again. I'm almost afraid to write or design as I don't wish to infringe on anyone's copyright. I hope the world doesn't come to a place where just the use of two or three words together becomes a copyright issue. For example, I know of another business that uses the name Rye Printing. It is located in Rye, New York. My business is Rye Printing & Splash Designz. Rye Printing named because the original owners last name was Rye and then I added the Splash Designz when I purchased the business. And we are a long way from Rye, NY. I don't know which business came first but fortunately it has never been an issue. I get their email sometimes as their e-mail ends with ryeprinting.com and mine with ryeprint.com. I just forward it along to them and all is well.

But with that said, I'm going to continue to try this thing called blogging and hope that I don't infringe on anyone's copyright.

Mugs for all shapes and sizes

My favorite time of day is my early mornings with a cup of hot coffee in my hand. Some mornings I find myself with a large latte cup filled to the brim with piping hot hazelnut coffee. Other mornings things are hectic and I end up with a travel mug as I head out the door. Either way I look at those cups each and every morning and more often than not there is a logo on the cup, reminding me where I came by that cup. And often it reminds me that I need to stop by that place of business to pick up something they have to offer.

As a business owner I must always be thinking of new and exciting ways to promote my business. While I'm at it I'm able to share those ideas and innovations with you. As Christmas is on it's way what better way to thank your customers for their business then by giving them a gift of some kind. Maybe this year a coffee mug would do the trick. Then as the year goes by your customers will think of you every time they pour a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, or sometimes at my house a nice cold glass of milk to dip my cookies in.

There are many sizes, shapes, styles, and colors to use from. Consider a aimple and inexpensive white 11 oz C handle cup with your logo wrapped all the way around the cup starting around 1.35 each excluding setup and shipping.
Or maybe this year you want to spring for something larger, a 14 or 16 oz bistro style cup. These will run in the range of $2.50 each.
And for those of you who really want to stand out give your customers one of our new Bling style cups. These cups feature embedded rhinestones on an double walled acrylic mug in a variety of styles and bright colors. While these are in the $9 and above range they certainly make for good eye catchers and bring the focus back to you and your business.
Another choice might be 10 oz white Metro double wall ceramic commuter or travel mug with a silicone lid. Great for coffee or tea shops, schools, college, sports bars or auto dealerships. Fits great in auto cup holders. No handle on this cup but will keep your drink hot and tasty. These are priced in the $5.50 to $6.50 range.

Whatever you are looking for in a coffee mug let us help you define your style and select a cup that will woo your customers and keep them coming back.
